Scope of Activity

Beginning in 1988, an increasing number of public and private organizations started incorporating the SAT program into their development strategies. This gave way to the creation of a rural educational system that currently reaches more than 20,000 students, dispersed throughout the various rural regions of Colombia, including various native ethnic groups. Midway through 2003, these organizations (45 in total) found themselves working in a coordinated manner, mobilizing large amounts of governmental financial resources, on local, regional, and national levels.
